The Coburn Company

March 2011

Dear Kim,

Hello! This Winter has been challenging- even for those of you in states like Texas and Georgia that don't usually see such challenging weather! I do love the snow but I choose to believe Spring is right around the corner, at least that is what Puxatawney Phil says!

As you may know, for the past 11 years I have worked with clients to:

  • Grow Leadership Effectiveness
  • Foster Team Collaboration
  • Expedite Conflict Resolution and Optimize Productivity
  • Position themselves for Advancement within their Organizations and Industries
  • Successfully Navigate Career Transitions

I would like to enlist your help. As you may imagine, The Coburn Company is growing mostly through word of mouth and referrals. Would you please be on the lookout for relatives, friends or colleagues that are seeking a partner to help them optimize their professional success?

I work with people all over the country, so geography is not a concern.

If you do come across someone you think would be interested, will you let them know about me and vice versa? I'd be happy to talk with them and answer any questions they might have. Feel free to contact me at (978) 929-9509 or send an email to info@coburncompany.com.

Let them know they can schedule a free introductory coaching call. Thanks so much for your help! If there is anything I can do on my end to help you, please do let me know.

Career Focus

We are heading into Performance Review time. Many people find writing and delivering effective reviews a daunting task.  Hopefully folks have been managing their team all through the year so that the annual review does not become the annual surprise. For leaders to be able to achieve success in their organizations it really depends on their ability to grow and retain top talent. Do your performance discussions motivate and retain your top people? Do your folks feel valued and appreciated or will they become increasingly vulnerable to an expanding market?

As difficult as it is to deliver performance feedback, even more people find it difficult to hear performance feedback and either shut down or get defensive. Learning ways to stay focused and manage your internal environment while hearing feedback is critical for career success.
